Steel Gas and Water Pipes (GOST 3262-75)

This category includes galvanized and non-galvanized welded steel pipes used for water and gas pipelines, and also for heating systems and constructional elements. In terms of the length, such pipes are made within the range from 4 up to 12 meter:
a) indexing or divisible indexing length with the 5 mm oversize for each cut and longitudinal deviation of 10 mm along its full-length;
b) random length.
As agreed with the client and the manufacturer, a batch of random length pipes shall be permitted to have up to 5 % of all pipes with the length from 1.5 up to 4 meters.
For the screw thread made by knurling, reduction of the internal pipe diameter up to 10 % along with the full length of the thread shall be allowed. Weight of 1 meter of the pipes has been estimated at the steel density of 7.85 g/sm. Galvanized pipes are heavier than non-galvanized by 3 %.

Note: Positive threshold side deviation of the wall thickness is limited by threshold deviations of the pipe weight. Pipes of the standard production accuracy are used for water and gas pipelines and heating systems.
Pipes of the extra production accuracy are used for the elements of water- and gas pipeline structures.
Threshold deviations in terms of the pipe weight shall not exceed +8 %.
If requested by the client, weight threshold deviations shall not exceed: +7.5 % - for a batch; and + 10 % - for a separate pipe.
The pipe curvature of the 1 meter length shall not exceed: 2 mm for the internal diameter up to 20 mm, inclusively; and 1.5 mm for the internal diameter of more than 20 mm.
Pipes with the internal diameters of 6, 8, 10, 15, and 20 mm, as requested by the client, can be coiled. Examples of marking designations:
Standard, non-galvanized pipe, with the standard production accuracy, random length, with the internal diameter of 20 mm and wall thickness of 2.8 mm, and with no thread or coupling: pipe 20x2.8 GOST 3262-75.
The same, with a coupling: pipe М-20х2.8 GOST 3262-75.
The same of the indexing length, with the thread: pipe Р-20х2, 8-4000 GOST 3262-75.
In case of tapping pipes, the word "pipe" after their designation shall be followed with the Russian letter “Н”.
In case of pipes with the long thread the word "pipe" after their designation shall be followed with the Russian letter “Д”.
In case of pipes of the enhanced production accuracy, the internal diameter of their designation shall be followed with the Russian letter “П”.
